PKR polls: Amirudin wins unopposed

Amirudin, who is also the Sungai Tua assemblyman, has led the Gombak division since 2022 and continues to be seen as a key figure in the political landscape of Selangor.

SHAH ALAM - Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari retains his position as the PKR Gombak division chief for the 2025–2028 term after being announced as the winner unopposed in the 2025 PKR party elections.

Amirudin, who is also the Sungai Tua assemblyman, has led the Gombak division since 2022 and continues to be seen as a key figure in the political landscape of Selangor.

Amirudin's victory in Gombak marks a significant development in the party's political dynamics ahead of higher-level elections.

Meanwhile, the election results for the Klang division chief for the 2025–2028 term saw Azmizam Zaman Huri securing a comfortable victory.

Based on official data, of the 2,987 eligible members in the Klang division, 2,329 ballots were issued.

Azmizam, who is also the assemblyman for Port Klang, received 1,774 votes, surpassing his opponent Yew Boon Lye, who garnered 553 votes.

This victory clearly shows strong support from the Klang division members for Azmizam's leadership and vision for the party at the division level.

Meanwhile, the election results for the Kota Raja division chief for the 2025–2028 term saw Sentosa assemblyman Dr Gunaraj George emerge as the winner with a significant majority.

According to the official data released, of the 7,977 members eligible to vote in the Kota Raja division, 6,308 ballots were issued.

The final results showed Dr Gunaraj received 4,643 votes, far ahead of his challenger, Mahendran Marimuthu, who obtained 1,615 votes.

This landslide victory indicates strong trust and support from the members of the Kota Raja division for Dr Gunaraj's leadership, reflecting grassroots aspirations for the direction of the party at the division level.

Meanwhile, in the Petaling Jaya division, former Selangor State Executive Council member and former Kajang assemblyman Hee Loy Sian, narrowly won with 2,900 votes, surpassing his challenger, Lee Chean Chung, who received 2,684 votes. This close victory illustrates healthy competition within the party at the division level.

Hee, an experienced community activist who has long served in the party, has now been entrusted with leading the Petaling Jaya division.
