KUALA LUMPUR - K-Pop is about to make history in Malaysia as Live Universe announces a landmark concert featuring global sensations (G)I-DLE and BamBam of GOT7, set to take place at the legendary Stadium Merdeka on June 14.
This event will mark the first-ever K-Pop concert held at the iconic venue, adding another cultural milestone to a site best known for its national historical significance.
With top-tier production, international star power and an anticipated crowd of thousands, the concert promises to be one of the biggest live music events of the year.
"Hosting (G)I-DLE and BamBam at Stadium Merdeka is not just a concert; it’s a historic milestone that will resonate for years to come,” said a Live Universe spokesperson.
Star-Studded Lineup
Leading the lineup is (G)I-DLE, the chart-topping girl group under Cube Entertainment.
Since their 2018 debut with "Latata", the five-member act — Miyeon, Minnie, Soyeon, Yuqi, and Shuhua — has become known for their edgy style and boundary-pushing music.
Their 2022 album I Never Die earned a spot in Time magazine’s "Best Albums of the Year,” while hits like "Oh My God" and "Tomboy" have secured their place among K-Pop’s elite.
Joining them is BamBam, the Thai-born superstar and member of GOT7, who has successfully carved out a solo career since 2021.
His debut EP riBBon showcased his growth as an artist, while his fashion ventures — including a brand ambassadorship with Louis Vuitton — continue to boost his global profile.
This concert also marks BamBam’s second appearance in Malaysia, following his 2023–2024 [AREA 52] world tour.
Stadium Merdeka: A Historic First
The selection of Stadium Merdeka, a site usually associated with Merdeka Day and major national events, reflects the growing influence and mainstream appeal of K-Pop in Malaysia.
With a capacity of over 30,000, the venue offers a grand backdrop for what’s expected to be a high-energy spectacle.
