KUALA Lumpur Wellness City (KLWC) recently launched "Sejahtera Raya Bersama KLWC" to bring together the community for a Raya festive celebration. The event featured cultural performances, traditional delicacies, and the premiere of a special Hari Raya music video.
Held at the KLWC Show Gallery in Bukit Jalil, the event aimed to reflect KLWC's commitment to fostering community spirit, well-being, and inclusivity. Kuala Lumpur mayor, Datuk Seri Dr Maimunah Mohd Sharif, who was also present at the event, praised KLWC's efforts in fostering a sense of community and giving back during the festive season. "In the spirit of Hari Raya, we are reminded of the importance of togetherness, generosity, and well-being," she said.
She also commended the project for its ongoing commitment not only to developing the country but also to community engagement, sustainability, and inclusivity. "Their initiative today reflects the values that make Kuala Lumpur a city that thrives on compassion and shared prosperity," said Datuk Seri Maimunah.
The celebration was also graced by Tengku Datuk Dr Hishammuddin Zaizi Tengku Bendahara Azman Shah Alhaj, alongside other esteemed guests. In hopes of continuing this meaningful tradition for years to come, this year’s Raya celebration featured a heartfelt Hari Raya music video that combined nostalgia, unity, and togetherness, created by 25 KLWC staff members who came together to sing, dance, and act.
Aiming to give back to the community, KLWC targeted underprivileged children for this year's Raya by allocating RM12,500 in donations to five orphanages, reinforcing its commitment to uplifting underprivileged communities. The five homes that benefited from the initiative are: .
1. Persatuan Kebajian Anak Yatim & Miskin Al-Munirah Klang
2. Pertubuhan Pendidikan Anak-Anak Yatim Selangor
3. Rumah Perlindungan Nur Qaseh
4. Persatuan Kebajikan Rumah Jalinan Kasih Anak Yatim Miskin Selangor
5. Persatuan Kebajikan Anak Kepada Pesakit HIV/Aids Nurul Iman Malaysia (Pernim)
This initiative extends from last year’s efforts, where over 268 old folks' homes and orphanages were supported across various festive celebrations, including Hari Raya and Chinese New Year, ensuring that more communities could experience joy and warmth during the festive season.
Having launched Phase One in May 2024, KLWC is committed to further development beyond its current 50 percent structural completion, ahead of schedule. The project’s completion is highly anticipated by the KLWC team to reach a world-class wellness hub, including its managing director, Datuk Dr Colin Lee, who headed the "Sejahtera Raya Bersama KLWC" event to foster a culture of giving and togetherness.
"This is what defines KLWC. We are not just a wellness-focused township but a community that uplifts and supports those in need," he said.
In addition, KL International Hospital (KLIH) and The Nobel Healthcare Park are set to open in the second half of 2026, strengthening KL’s position as a center for medical tourism and healthcare excellence. Plans for a helipad are also underway to enhance emergency response capabilities.
KL Mayor, Datuk Seri Maimunah, in her speech during the launch event, highlighted KLWC’s role in elevating KL’s global standing through the development.
"KLWC is setting a new benchmark for urban development by prioritizing health, accessibility, and sustainability. From its wheelchair-friendly township to the management of the 1.33-acre Central Park, this is a development designed for people, not just infrastructure.
"With the establishment of the KLIH, KL's reputation as a premier medical tourism destination will undoubtedly be enhanced. Beyond being an economic driver that generates job opportunities and attracts investments, this development supports KL's vision of wellness-focused growth," she said.
Meanwhile, Lee added in his speech that KLWC works as a transformative vision that places KL on the global medical map, positioning it as the destination of choice for health tourism.
"With state-of-the-art healthcare infrastructure, a fully integrated wellness ecosystem, and a commitment to sustainability, KLWC is setting new benchmarks in medical excellence and holistic well-being," he added.
He further highlighted that the Central Park would be designed as a green sanctuary to promote well-being and community engagement. The Green Amphitheatre, one of the few central parks in the nation, includes a theatre-style seating design that serves as a hub for wellness activities and social gatherings.
It will also feature a jogging and cycling track, a pocket forest, and a rain garden to enhance biodiversity, allowing health and nature to coexist harmoniously.
Further cementing its commitment to sustainability, KLWC has achieved Green Building Index (GBI) certification for both KLIH and The Nobel Healthcare Park. The GBI certification evaluates environmental impact, energy efficiency, and overall sustainability, emphasising KLWC’s long-term pledge to building a greener, healthier future while advancing Malaysia’s reputation as a leading hub for medical tourism.
On April 19, from 10am to 1pm, KLWC will be conducting its Hari Raya Open House at the KLWC Gallery in Bukit Jalil. Attendance is encouraged for family and friends to make their festive celebration more meaningful by being a part of the KLWC team, offering a range of traditional delicacies and exciting activities.
