WTCKL, in partnership with Food For Gelandangan (FFG), Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM)’s Living Lab, Creative 7 Legacy and Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) has launched its annual Infaq Kasih programme to help the needy.

WTCKL's group managing director Datuk Seri Dr Irmohizam Ibrahim said the successful collaboration was key in ensuring the success of the Infaq Kasih programme.

"This initiative is not just about corporate social responsibility, it is a human endeavour to support the homeless in Kuala Lumpur."

"Infaq Kasih helps address the challenges of society by providing essential donations, and the act of giving is also an act of worship.”

Irmohizam said the programme aims to provide comfort and support to the underprivileged by offering essential goods like used clothes, dry food and soap in the spirit of Ramadan.

"The goal is to ease the struggles of those in need and bring joy as they prepare for Ramadan and Aidilfitri."

He also encouraged more people to step forward and support the homeless, hoping to create a positive ripple effect throughout the community.

USIM’s research director, Prof Datuk Dr Sharifudin Md Shaarani, who attended the launch event, shared insights into the ongoing efforts of Living Lab.

Since its inception in 2015, Living Lab has been providing essential services to the homeless in areas like Chow Kit, including food, clothing and dental care.

"Every Thursday, we visit Chow Kit to provide these services,” said Sharifudin.

"Our efforts not only support the homeless but also engage scholars in meaningful community work.

"We hope for continued support for these projects, as they benefit both the homeless and the students involved.”
