SUBANG JAYA: The year of the Snake slithers in with joy and celebration as Malaysians prepare for the Chinese New Year festivities.

Mydin Mohamed Holdings Berhad (MYDIN), one of the country’s largest retail chains, is making this season even more special with its vibrant ‘Kongsi Meriah’ campaign.

The campaign, launched at Mydin Subang Jaya, was officiated by Subang Jaya State Assemblywoman Michelle Ng Mei Sze.

Mydin will distribute food boxes and cash vouchers to 500 Chinese families from the B40 income group nationwide.

Decked in festive red, she emphasised the importance of inclusivity and joy during this cultural celebration.

"Chinese New Year is a time for family, friends, and community. Campaigns like these remind us of the shared traditions and togetherness that make Malaysia unique,” Michelle said.

One of the campaign’s most exciting highlights is the chance to win a traditional lion dance performance at home. Mydin customers who spend a minimum of RM118 at any Mydin outlet will be entered into a contest, where 28 lucky winners will be selected.

"This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience to bring the vibrant energy of a lion dance into your home, spreading good fortune and joy," Mydin Managing Director Datuk Ameer Ali Mydin shared.

To honor the Year of the Snake, Mydin is introducing an interactive ‘Snake Board’ game available through its Mydin Rewards app.
