MUMBAI – In a remarkable turn of events, a 65-year-old man declared dead by doctors was miraculously revived after the ambulance transporting him struck a speed bump.
Pandurang Ulpe from Kolhapur, Maharashtra suffered a heart attack on December 16, 2024 and was pronounced dead at a private hospital.
His family was preparing for his funeral when the unexpected happened.
However, as the ambulance hit a speed bump, Ulpe’s fingers began to move.

Upon arrival, he was admitted to the intensive care unit, where he underwent angioplasty to unblock a heart artery.
After 15 days of treatment, Ulpe was discharged from the second hospital, according to local media reports.
Recalling the incident, Ulpe shared that he remembered feeling dizzy, struggling to breathe and vomiting before he was declared dead.
His grandson, Ramane described that doctors at a private hospital in Kasba Bawda had confirmed Ulpe’s heart attack and referred him to another facility.
"At the second hospital, he vomited blood several times and an electrocardiogram (ECG) was performed, but he was pronounced dead.
"While in the ambulance, one of our family members checked his wrist and felt a pulse after the vehicle hit a speed bump,” Ramane said.
