A survey revealed that 87 per cent of Malaysians prioritise activities, relaxation and exploration when traveling.

KUALA LUMPUR - Malaysia's capital city has always been a favourite destination for both domestic and international visitors seeking the perfect holiday getaway.

It comes as no surprise that the latest survey by Hong Kong-based travel services booking platform Klook, ‘#KlookDulu Malaysian Travel Preferences 2024’, revealed that over half of Malaysians chose Kuala Lumpur, along with Penang and Melaka, as their preferred domestic travel destinations.

Sarah Wan, general manager of Klook for Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore, said the survey also found that 87 per cent of Malaysians prioritise activities, relaxation and exploration when traveling.

"With these three main objectives in mind, Kuala Lumpur offers a wide range of accommodations where visitors can relax. The city also offers new exhibitions and exciting experiences, making it an ideal destination for a domestic vacation," she told Bernama recently.

Good Times DIY Pottery Studio

A school holiday would feel incomplete without engaging in hands-on activities with your children. At the Good Times DIY Pottery Studio in Pavilion Bukit Jalil, families can experience pottery-making with clay.

Tickets, at RM175 each, can be purchased for the ‘Wheel-Throwing and Marble Artwork’ activity via Klook. Visitors will have the opportunity to create two types of pottery, a bowl and a cup, in a session lasting about an hour. Participants will be guided and assisted by an instructor to shape the clay into their desired forms.

Vivien Ng, a pottery consultant at the studio, explained that this family-friendly activity also allows participants to take home their creations after five weeks.

"Customers can express their creativity here as well... here, they can learn to make pottery and customise it to how they want it. There are four to five main steps that customers will learn,” she said, adding the activity is suitable for children aged 10 and above.
