As everyone lists their 2024 wrap-up, Selena Gomez is wrapping up the year with a sparkling surprise—courtesy of a rock-solid engagement ring!
The actress-singer said "Yes" after Benny Blanco popped the big question.
The couple, who began their relationship at the end of 2023, had previously known each other in the 2010s when Gomez was working on her music career.
At the time, Blanco, a music producer, helped develop some of her hit songs, including Same Old Love and Kill 'Em With Kindness.
Blanco, 36, has also worked with some of the biggest names in music such as Ed Sheeran, Katy Perry, Rihanna and Justin Bieber. His work has been recognised by iHeartRadio as Producer of the Year back in 2017.
Gomez’s Instagram announcement sent shockwaves through Hollywood, with numerous celebrities, including Cardi B, Gwyneth Paltrow, Nina Dobrev, Shay Mitchell, Lil Nas X, and Gordon Ramsay, all commenting on the post.
The 32-year-old Only Murders in the Building star showed off her oval-cut diamond ring at a picnic-like setting, captioning the photo, "Forever begins now." The image suggests that Blanco popped the question during their picnic together.
Taylow Swift, who is known to be her bestfriend commented on the post saying that she would happily be her "flowergirl."
"Yes, I will be the flower girl," she wrote.
Meanwhile, celebrity chef and food critic, Gordon Ramsay, known for his snarky comments on cooking shows said, "Congratulations to you both. It must be the cooking."
The comment was likely a playful reference to their past cooking collaborations, which have helped improve her culinary skills, or a nod to Blanco's cooking TikTok videos, suggesting he has done a lot of the cooking for both of them.
Twilight star, Robert Pattinson's fiancée, Suki Waterhouse also congratulated the couple under her post with 'Congratulations, beauty!'
Meanwhile, her 2012 Spring Breakers co-star, Ashley Benson expressed her happiness for the lovers, saying, 'Congrats lovey. So happy for you.'
Close friend and actress Jennifer Aniston expressed her joy with a heartfelt message: "Honey! Congratulations, sweet mama." The two have bonded over shared experiences, including making pizzas together at Gomez's house, and Gomez has often referred to Aniston as one of her childhood idols.
Blanco also commented on the post, saying, "Hey wait... That's my wife."
