Saudi Arabia will become the second Middle Eastern country to host the top-tier international football tournament after Qatar in 2022.

ANKARA - Saudi Arabia will host the 2034 World Cup football, FIFA announced during an extraordinary congress on Wednesday, Anadolu Agency reported.

The matches are planned to be held in 15 stadiums in five host cities – Riyadh, Jeddah, Khobar, Abha, and Neom.

The 2034 World Cup will be the first 48-team tournament in the competition’s history.

Meanwhile, Morocco, Portugal and Spain are named the joint hosts of the 2030 FIFA World Cup.

Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay will host the special centenary celebration games, which will be a part of the 2030 World Cup.
