Spring Overture (CNY'25) marks the beginning of a new season as 2024 draws to a close, encouraging a slower pace and preparation for the upcoming year.

CollabStore features brands from across Asean, including Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand.

It invites individuals to embrace life with a cheerful, hopeful attitude and refresh their wardrobes with positive energy for the Lunar New Year celebration.

Participating brands include Angelique, known for resort wear supporting block printing craftsmen with intricate prints and embroidery; Behati, a contemporary unisex Malaysian brand influenced by local culture; and Eric Choong, a Malaysian label specialising in responsible fashion with tie-dye and batik techniques.

Additionally, Haj Accessories offers vintage costume jewelry with a Southeast Asian twist, while Inari Jewellery provides slow fashion jewelry crafted by an all-female team in Malaysia using recycled materials.

Kanzi from Indonesia specialises in fluid silhouettes and bold prints to empower women, and Nyananyana, a Singaporean social enterprise, focuses on EcoBatik with certified fabrics and natural dyes.

OE, an Indonesian brand, celebrates batik and tenun ready-to-wear pieces crafted by local artisans, while Yeomama Batik from Singapore reimagines traditional batik with a playful and vibrant touch, supporting skilled artisans and handcrafted techniques. The showcase also features a Malaysian luxury bag company renowned for its premium designs and craftsmanship.

Richard highlighted that CollabStore features brands from across Asean, including Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand. He emphasised their focus on celebrating each country's unique heritage prints, noting that their approach extends beyond traditional batik.

"We want to celebrate artisans' work and collaborations by embracing batik prints for Chinese New Year, showcasing a more artistic and less commercial approach with a focus on spring-inspired designs like flowers," he added.

He said that CollabStore is more than just a souvenir shop; they are building a wardrobe where people can wear pieces that tell a story and its all about narrative and storytelling—how each item is crafted, the background it represents, and the heritage it embodies.

Richard highlighted they also focused on expanding to share their vision globally, something they’ve already started. Earlier this year, they collaborated with Singapore Tourism to promote the local brand Behati, hosting a month-long pop-up.

Looking ahead, he added their next major project is set for next year, where they plan to bring some of their brands to Hong Kong while continuing to enhance their mission and reach.

"As an Asean-curated retail store, we want to continue reaching out to more Asean brands and countries to raise awareness of our presence.

"While buying online is an option, physical retail stores and exhibitions serve a greater purpose, allowing people to feel and see the products. So, stay tuned—there's more to come,” he said.

The event revealed CollabStore's revamped space, designed to offer a modern and immersive shopping experience.
