SHAH ALAM - South Korean actor Park Min-Jae, known for his roles in Little Women and Mr Lee, has passed away at the age of 32.
The actor reportedly suffered a sudden cardiac arrest while in China on Nov 29.
The news was first reported by South Korean entertainment portal Xports News, followed by confirmation from his agency, Big Title.
The agency remembered Park as ‘a talented actor who deeply loved his craft and always gave his best."
They also extended their gratitude for the unwavering support and affection he received during his career.
"Although we can no longer witness his performances, we will remember him and be proud of him as an actor at Big Title. May he rest in peace,” the agency said, translated by Korean entertainment portal Soompi.
Park’s brother also shared the tragic news on the late actor’s Instagram account.
"My beloved brother has gone to rest. I hope as many people as possible can remember him. Please understand that I cannot contact everyone individually,”
Big Title’s chief executive officer Hwang Joo-hye also paid tribute to Park.
"The guy who said he would conquer China and go on a month-long trip ended up going on a very long trip. It was so sudden. Although it was a short time, I was grateful to be your representative, and I am sorry,” he said.
Park reportedly had no other known underlying medical conditions.
His career spanned a variety of notable roles in dramas such as Goryeo-Khitan War, Snap and Spark, Bo-ra! Deborah, and Call It Love.
He also gained recognition for his performance in the 2021 drama Idol: The Coup, which propelled his popularity.
Details of Park’s funeral service also have been shared by his brother, who announced that it would take place at Ewha Seoul Hospital funeral hall.
"Our beloved brother has gone to rest peacefully. We hope as many people as possible can come to see him off,” he added.
