SHAH ALAM - Celebrity Zahnita Dorothy Hussein Wilson has publicly shared allegations of domestic abuse in a recent Instagram post, revealing a swollen left eye and detailing her painful experience.

"I didn't want to do this... but I am forced to. This is why I left my old house and why I sometimes wear sunglasses."

The 41-year-old actress, best known for her role in Kuliah Cinta Ini (2004), said that she had been allegedly enduring physical abuse from her husband, Abdul Zachary Ghouse for a long period, but only chose to reveal it now.

According to Zahnita, the latest incident occurred after she asked her husband if he was involved with another woman.

"The reason I was hit was because I asked my husband if he had another girl.

"He couldn’t process the question well enough to give a verbal answer," she claimed.

Zahnita also revealed troubling incidents involving unidentified individuals approaching her mother’s home in Kuantan, Pahang, claiming they were from an agency wanting to bring her to the police station.

However, when she asked for clarification on which police report had been filed or if they had a warrant, they were unable to provide details. Zahnita is reportedly seeking legal advice to determine her next steps.

In 2013, Zahnita had filed for divorce in the Shah Alam Syariah Court, but the case was never finalised.

At the time, she cited that she was not "fated" to remain with her husband.

Despite facing difficulties in their 20-year marriage, Zahnita had persisted, reportedly for the sake of their children.

The couple has four children together - Zahrafeena, Zasharayna, Zahlia, and Zayden.

Following the Instagram post, Zahnita received ample of support from her colleagues.

"You don’t and never deserve this ever," actress Sarimah Ibrahim commented.
