SHAH ALAM - The public would still have the opportunity to catch legendary singers Datuk Jamal Abdillah and Datuk Hattan performing at the World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur on Dec 14.
Tengku Mahmud Ex-Student Association (TMESA) president Datuk Muhammad Nasir Hamzah said the two singers would be performing at the association's Charity Dinner programme.
Nasir said the programme aimed at supporting underprivileged students in rural areas.
He said that through this series of charity programmes, the association has supported a total of 1,048 students, enabling them to pursue their education through the funds raised.
Some of these students, he said have even continued their studies abroad.
"We are confident that the event will receive the support that we need for it to be more successful in the future," he said during Sinar's Interviu programme hosted by Haizir Othman, here, today.
Meanwhile, Hattan, who was also present, expressed his support for the charity programme, emphasising its significant benefits for underprivileged students saying that no one should be left behind.
"We should invite more organisations to support such a cause.
"With my 38 years influence in the music industry, why don’t I use this (platform) to amplify the voices of the needy students? It is one of the ways that I can give back to the community," he said.
So far, a total of 70 tables have been sold out of an estimated total of around 90.
The sale of tables is still open to those who are interested.
