Luxury Assets Seized Over Unpaid Debt

On Nov 25, Vida had four of her luxury vehicles and other personal belongings seized from her bungalow in Meru, Ipoh. The High Court's order was prompted by her failure to settle a debt of RM1,060,285 related to the renovation of her factory in Shah Alam into a studio back in 2018.

The seized vehicles included two Toyota Vellfire, a Toyota Grand Hiace and a BMW X7.

All items within her residence were tagged, except for her locked bedroom. The operation lasted nearly four hours.

The court-appointed bailiff was accompanied by the plaintiff’s lawyer, Samir Zainal and subcontractor Mohamad Taufik Kamarul. Taufik, who had been seeking repayment for six years, described that he was hired by a consultancy company for the renovation work.

However, when Vida failed to pay the company, they could not compensate him. He subsequently filed a bankruptcy case against the consultancy.

Samir revealed that the High Court had issued a judgment on Oct 29, 2023, requiring Vida to settle the debt, but she failed to comply.

"She has two weeks to pay the amount owed or her belongings will be auctioned. The deadline is Dec 9,” Samir said.

Vida was reportedly in China at the time of the seizure. Her staff informed Samir that she would contact him soon to address the matter.

Datuk Vida’s Response: "Give Me Space”

Following the publicised seizure, Vida took to Instagram today to address the issue. She assured her followers and stakeholders that she took the matter seriously in her post.

"I would like to inform, that I take this matter seriously and will give my full attention to the issues raised. I have appointed a lawyer to advise and assist me in resolving this matter in the best possible manner and in accordance with the law.

"I deeply appreciate the support of all parties and hope to be given the space to address this matter calmly and professionally,” she added.
