SHAH ALAM - A woman took her son to the police station to teach him a lesson after he repeatedly failed to complete his homework.
Nor Syuhada Mohd Zahri, 42, shared in a video on TikTok that her youngest son who is 11 years old would always tell her that he had completed his homework whenever she asked.
However, the truth that he actually did not do his homework was exposed by his teacher.
"I was shocked when his class teacher told me that he did not actually complete his homework.
"When I asked him at home, he said he had done it at school. I didn’t want to make a big fuss, so I took him straight to the nearby police station to "scare" him.
"I took him to the officer on duty and pretended to report that he had not finished his homework. At that point, the police understood the situation and played along," she told Sinar.
Syuhada, who is also a teacher said the police officer cooperated, even jokingly threatened to put him in a lockup if he repeated the same mistake.
The mother of five explained that her action was intended to teach her son a lesson and make him realise his mistake.
"The police asked a lot of questions and interrogated my son. Some even showed him handcuffs and took him in a police car.
"What affected him the most was when the police showed him the lockup. At that moment, he cried and repeatedly apologised," she said.
Syuhada said her son began to show a change in behaviour after the incident and started completing his homework as promised.
"Thank you to the police for their cooperation. My son is truly remorseful and has promised not to repeat the same mistake," she added.
The shared video has so far garnered 3.8 million views and 130,000 likes on TikTok.
