SHAH ALAM - A total of 253 women who faced social problems and issues related to akidah (faith) have undergone rehabilitative programmes at the Baitul Ehsan Women’s Shelter under the Selangor Islamic Religious Council (Mais) since 2019, according to Mais.
In a statement, Mais said the trainees aged 13 and above with diverse backgrounds came from places within and outside Selangor and had been fully rehabilitated and returned to the right path.
The number of rehabilitated women reflects Mais’s commitment to nurturing individuals with good morals and spiritual values and preparing them to face life challenges after completing the programmes.
"Various programmes are planned and implemented each year to facilitate their recovery, protection, treatment, prevention and control so that those facing social problems and issues of faith can return to the right path.
"Each trainee must follow all rehabilitation programmes according to the duration set,” read the statement.
Mais expressed hope that society could support and motivate these women to strive for positive changes consistently and become outstanding individuals in this world and the hereafter.
It also called on women wanting to change for the better to contact the Baitul Ehsan Women’s Shelter for further clarification and guidance.
Located in Sabak Bernam, the shelter accommodates troubled women and girls facing faith-related challenges, as well as those in need of guidance for their spiritual and physical rehabilitation.- BERNAMA
