"I am not overly confident, but I leave everything to Allah SWT. Since settling here 30 years ago, I have never relocated temporarily due to landslides.

"Besides, this is not the first incident near my home. I have always taken precautions, but if something does happen, it is the will of Allah SWT,” he told Sinar.

Yusof added that the recent landslide near his home was somewhat expected, as previous instances of erosion had occurred in the area.

He hoped that the authorities would take more serious action to prevent such landslides from recurring.

"I often passed by the area, and over the past few months, I noticed several instances of erosion and small landslides.

"It’s clear that the land will collapse during heavy rains if nothing is done because the drainage water flows alongside, causing erosion.

"I hope appropriate action is taken so that the landslide does not worsen in the future,” he said.

When asked about the situation around his home, the Gerak Khas creator said he had already taken necessary steps to prevent soil erosion.

Yusof added that he was willing to spend his own money to repair broken or clogged drains around his home, even though it was the responsibility of the municipal council.

"Before settling here, there had already been a landslide incident. So, I took the necessary precautions by hiring an engineer to install a retaining wall.

"If a drain breaks or gets clogged, I hire people to fix it. I don’t wait for the municipal council because I know they have many other areas to monitor.

"I personally inspect my home area with my workers every week. It costs a lot, but safety is a priority, and I ensure all aspects are managed.

"But if something happens, it is the will of Allah SWT,” he added.
