Landslide on hillside at Taman Melawati

AMPANG - A landslide incident has been reported on the hillside of Jalan E6, Taman Melawati here, today.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Ahmad Mukhlis Mokhtar said they received a report regarding the incident at 11.42am.

"A team of six personnel and officers, along with machinery from the Ampang Fire and Rescue Station were deloyed to the scene," he said in a statement.

Upon arrival, operations commander, Senior Fire Officer II (KUP) Syamsul Shahar reported that the landslide occurred on a hillside covering an area of 20x20 metres with a height of 30 metres.

"The incident did not involve any casualties or residential areas.

"However, there is still ongoing ground movement in the affected area," he added.
