GISBH appealed to the government to allow them to participate in the welfare management of its children and to allow its entrepreneurs to resume business operations, pledging to comply with all regulations.

SHAH ALAM - The legal team representing GISB Holdings Sdn Bhd (GISBH) says the company is not a "terrorist group."

Its spokesperson Datuk Rosli Kamarudin said the investigation should be left to the police and government until it was fully concluded.

"The right to investigate belongs to the authorities and we respect the investigation. However, GISBH and those being investigated plead for the investigation to be conducted fairly and justly.

Also present were two daughters of Al Aqram's founder Ashaari Muhammad who were Ummu Mubarokah, 30, and Khaulah, 38.

Rosli expressed hope that the authorities would refrain from using the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 (Sosma) against the suspects in the GISBH case.

"This is because the board of directors and GISBH officers have provided full cooperation and will continue to do so in any investigation by the police or any other enforcement agency," he added.

At the same time, they appealed to all non-governmental organisations (NGOs), politicians, professionals and individuals not appointed by GISBH to stop any polemics, debates, or activities that could create uneasiness for any party, including the authorities.

GISBH also appealed to the government to allow them to be involved in the welfare management of GISBH’s children and pledged to comply with all regulations imposed.

"We also appeal to the government and authorities to allow GISBH entrepreneurs to resume business operations for livelihood purposes, as we are not involved in illegal businesses," he added.

Last Thursday, 16 GISBH members, who were previously remanded were re-arrested under Sosma.

It was reported that Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID) director Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain said the re-arrests also included GISBH’s chief executive officer Datuk Nasiruddin Mohd Ali.

He said besides Nasiruddin, other top leaders of the GISBH network were also detained under Sosma.
