Batik Air’s Chief Executive Officer Datuk Chandran Rama Muthy highlighted the airline’s mission to support East Malaysia's tourism and economic development, saying, "Bintulu, Miri, and Sandakan are destinations with immense potential, both as tourist hotspots and industrial powerhouses. Nestled along the coast of Sarawak, Bintulu beckons eco-adventurers and culture seekers to experience its rich landscapes.

Home to the pristine Similajau National Park, with golden beaches, lush rainforests, and unique wildlife, Bintulu offers unforgettable escapes into the wild. Ideal for families and outdoor enthusiasts, this hidden gem boasts nature in its purest form.

But there’s more to Bintulu than its scenic beauty. As a key hub for Malaysia's Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and a vital part of the Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (SCORE), this dynamic town plays a major role in the nation’s economy, making it a prime destination for corporate travellers too.

For business travellers and nature lovers alike, Miri is where Malaysia’s oil and gas story began.

But beyond its industrial heart, Miri is also the gateway to one of the world’s most awe-inspiring natural wonders—Gunung Mulu National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The park’s vast caves, limestone formations, and stunning biodiversity attract adventurers from all corners of the globe.

With a growing reputation as a hub for both industrial growth and eco-tourism, Miri offers the perfect blend of opportunity and exploration.

Sandakan, Sabah’s wild frontier, is a dream come true for nature enthusiasts. Home to the world-renowned Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre and the Kinabatangan River’s spectacular wildlife, it’s an ideal destination for conservationists and adventurers alike.

The Turtle Islands Park is another draw, where visitors can witness sea turtles in their natural habitat.

But Sandakan also carries a deep historical resonance. The Sandakan Memorial Park serves as a poignant reminder of the town’s role in World War II, making it a must-visit for history buffs alongside nature lovers.

Mark your calendars and book your tickets for these exciting new journeys. Whether you’re eager to hike through the rainforests of Sarawak, venture into the caves of Mulu, or witness the incredible wildlife of Sabah, Batik Air is ready to take you there.
