GEORGE TOWN – Kaotim, the digital platform and brand by Takaful Malaysia, has launched its latest offerings, Kaotim Car and Kaotim Motor, designed to provide comprehensive, affordable, and easily accessible vehicle protection for Malaysian car and motorcycle owners.

These online plans are tailored to simplify securing coverage with just a few clicks.

During his keynote speech at the launch event held in Penang, Takaful Malaysia's group chief executive officer Nor Azman Zainal, expressed gratitude to everyone involved in the project and highlighted the significance of this launch in the company's journey.

He recalled the successful inception of Kaotim in late 2023, remarking on its evolution into a platform that is more than just a sales channel but a developing ecosystem aimed at providing seamless user experiences.

"Kaotim is not just an app or a sales tool, it’s a platform, an entire ecosystem that we are building piece by piece.

"Today, with the launch of Kaotim Car and Kaotim Motor, we mark a significant milestone in this journey. We aim to be a strong player in the retail market for insurance and takaful in Malaysia," he said.

He emphasised that these new products align with Takaful Malaysia's digital strategy and their commitment to meeting the evolving needs of vehicle owners.

Azman also highlighted the features of these plans, explaining that customers can easily buy or renew their car and motorcycle protection plans within just three or four clicks.

He added that the goal is to provide a top-notch customer experience that meets the fast-paced expectations of today’s market.

Present at the launch were prominent figures, including Takaful Malaysia Group chairman Datuk Mohammed Hussein, Takaful Malaysia Am chairman Ismail Mahbob, Takaful Malaysia Am chief executive officer Mohamed Sabri Ramli and the Takaful Malaysia Senior Management.

Tailored for protection and convenience

Kaotim Car offers extensive private car coverage, protecting against risks such as accidental damage, fire, theft, third-party liabilities and property damage.

It includes 24-hour roadside assistance, with complimentary unlimited breakdown towing and personal accident coverage for both drivers and passengers.

Customers can enhance their coverage with 11 add-on benefits, including Motor PA Plus, which provides additional protection in case of death or permanent disablement due to road accidents.

Similarly, Kaotim Motor provides comprehensive motorcycle coverage, protecting against accidental damage, fire, theft, and third-party liabilities.

There are also optional add-on benefits, including Bike PA Plus, a personal accident cover.

During his speech, Azman also shared his vision for Kaotim as part of Takaful Malaysia’s broader digital transformation.

He emphasised the company’s commitment to creating a seamless digital experience for customers and its ambition to lead in the digital economy.

"Our nation is moving towards the digital economy, and we are playing our part in advancing insurance and takaful in Malaysia.

"With Kaotim Car and Motor, it's similar to our medical card, if you're a healthy customer, you can complete your purchase in just five minutes. Within three or four clicks, you can renew or buy your motor takaful.

"We aim to provide a seamless customer experience and a user-friendly journey," Azman said.

Azman took a moment to recognise the efforts of his team, giving special thanks to Sabri and Takaful Malaysia chief marketing officer Siti Hajar Rizlan, along with the IT and project management teams, for their dedication to the success of this initiative.

As Takaful Malaysia celebrates its 40th anniversary, Azman emphasised the company's robust position in the market.

By offering affordable and comprehensive protection plans, he said they aim to maintain their competitiveness while ensuring a balanced portfolio of motor and non-motor products in the general insurance and takaful market.

"The launch of Kaotim Car and Kaotim Motor is a significant milestone in our efforts to introduce more user-friendly protection plans through our advanced online platform. This will allow us to better cater to the changing lifestyles of Malaysians," Azman added.
