PUTRAJAYA - The Education Ministry (MOE), in collaboration with the Social Welfare Department (JKM), has implemented an education programme for children from GISB Holdings Sdn Bhd (GISBH) charity homes, currently under the care of authorities, starting Tuesday (Oct 1).
MOE, in a statement today announced that the programme, involving 68 teachers, is specifically designed to provide formal, structured education to the children, ensuring they do not face learning disruptions.
The programme utilises the Year 1 Transition Programme Kit and the Healthy Mind Intervention Programme Module (PRISMA) to cater to children who have never been part of the national education system.
"The kit focuses on the children’s socio-economic, cognitive, and physical development to build their self-confidence and holistically prepare them, including mastering literacy and numeracy skills.
"The module also incorporates elements that raise awareness of their self-potential while promoting a balance in their physical, emotional, spiritual, social, and intellectual aspects, helping them adapt positively to the new learning environment," read the statement.
In line with the Humanistic Education agenda, the MOE is committed to ensuring these children receive the best educational opportunities, leaving no one behind. - BERNAMA
