SHAH ALAM – A heartwarming surprise awaited many, including the former president of Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (Muda), as acting president Amira Aisya Abd Aziz tied the knot with party member Luqman Long today.
The news was announced on Muda's official Instagram account, where they shared a picture of the newlyweds and extended their congratulations.
The post was met with overwhelming joy and support from the party's followers and supporters.
"I didn't see this coming," @ikmalfahmi_rasmi said on Instagram and congratulated them after.
Former Muda president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, who served as one of Luqman's groomsmen, expressed his happiness and best wishes for the couple on social media.
In a humorous twist, Muda's central executive committee member Nurainie Haziqah Shafii shared a video of Syed Saddiq delivering a speech at the wedding.
She jokingly commented that Syed Saddiq was "frustrated" to be the last one to know about the relationship.
"@syedsaddiq delivering his frustration in ceramah (speech) because he was the last to know about Amira & Luqman," she said.
Syed Saddiq also shared a video on his X account capturing the emotional moments during the akad nikah ceremony, expressing his heartfelt wishes for the couple.
"To @_amiraaisya and @luqmanlong, till Jannah," the Muar MP said.
Luqman, who was once Muda's information chief, resigned from his position last year after failing to secure the candidate deposit in the Bandar Mahkota state assembly by-election.
Despite the setback, he found love and happiness with Amira.
