KLUANG - Despite his wife’s 16-day hospitalisation, Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidate Mohd Haizan Jaafar remains resolute and focused on his campaign for the Mahkota by-election.
Balancing the demands of his political bid with personal challenges, Haizan draws strength from his wife’s unwavering support.
"Yes, my wife has been in hospital for 16 days,” Haizan told reporters.
His wife, Rohimah Daud, 58, was admitted before the nomination day for the Mahkota by-election, a critical point in his political journey.
Yet Haizan presses on, determined not to let emotional strain disrupt his campaign.
"I am strong because my wife asked me to go for it. She asked me to be strong," he added, making it clear that his wife’s support plays a crucial role in his ability to stay focused on his campaign, despite the challenges he faces at home.
The Mahkota by-election, viewed as a key contest for Perikatan Nasional, has now taken on an added dimension of personal resilience for Haizan.
When asked about the party’s manifesto, Haizan said it would soon be revealed.
"We’re waiting for confirmation from the central committee on the manifesto,” he explained.
The Mahkota state by-election, set for 28th September, will be a straight fight between Barisan Nasional (BN) and Perikatan Nasional (PN).
BN has nominated Kluang Umno Youth Chief Syed Hussien Syed Abdullah, 40, to defend the seat, while PN is fielding former Johor footballer Mohd Haizan Jaafar, 61.
