On June 13, Zaim Ikhwan and Ismanira pleaded not guilty at the Sessions Court to charges filed under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001, which carries a penalty of up to RM50,000 in fines or up to 20 years imprisonment, or both, if convicted.

The charges stem from the tragic events of December 6, 2023, when Zayn Rayyan was found dead in a stream near the Idaman Apartment area, Damansara Damai, at 10pm.
