KUALA LUMPUR - A total of 392 children and teenagers rescued during the Op Global police raid have been separated from their parents since the age of two, says Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain.
This findings were discovered during the interviews sessions conducted with the victims, he said, adding that all victims were third and fourth-generation individuals at the care centres.
He said investigations revealed that when they turned two, they were separated from their parents and families and placed in these charity homes.
He also said findings showed some parents of the victims had spent up to six years abroad in countries like Saudi Arabia and Turkey.
"We also found that these children were not receiving the education they were entitled to, as they should have been attending school but were not, which is also a form of child abuse," he said during a press conference held at the Officer's Mess, Police Training Centre (Pulapol), here on Friday.
