SHAH ALAM - Sinar Harian, for the first time, is organising the Malaysia Day Celebration Programme at the Roblox Level, using a digital platform to engage the participation of primary and secondary school students.
As a newspaper that elevates the voice of the people, the programme was unconventional, as the gathering would be held virtually using the Roblox application, an online game development platform.
Sinar Harian Group editor-in-chief Zamri Rambli said that Sinar Harian was exploring the latest digital concepts to attract more students to interact directly throughout the programme.
"Just like physical programmes, the Malaysia Day Celebration Programme at the Roblox Level by Sinar Harian includes exciting activities such as folk tales, poetry recitations, singing of patriotic songs and a Malaysian traditional fashion show,” he said.
"This is Sinar Harian's digital transition, always staying ahead of today’s rapidly evolving technology,” he said on Tuesday.
The programme, in collaboration with Sinar Bestari, would be held on Friday, Sept 13, starting at 8.30pm across all Sinar Harian digital platforms.
At the same time, Zamri said that Sinar Harian would continue to host physical programmes at its main studio, such as Wacana Sinar Harian, TownHall Rakyat, Interviu and Dialog Siswa.
Meanwhile, Sinar Harian’s executive digital editor Ruzy Adila Idris said that the Malaysia Day celebration at the Roblox level would be hosted by Afiq Mat Zaid, better known as Cikgu Zyd, alongside Sinar Harian reporter Farah Wahidah Ab Aziz.
"Participants can visit all our digital platforms to get the link to join the event on Friday.
"Additionally, participants can scan the provided QR code or click here to gain access to the performance on Friday,” she said.
She added that the celebration would last for two hours, with Putrajaya selected as the gathering location.
