The Body Shop Malaysia is marking its 40th anniversary with a heartfelt initiative aimed at aiding vulnerable Gazans.
Until Sept 1, the brand is hosting a special Changemaking Campus at Mid Valley Megamall in Kuala Lumpur. This event coincides with Malaysia's Independence Month, reflecting The Body Shop’s commitment to both local and global causes.
"In support of People and Planet, The Body Shop celebrates change and changemakers who make a meaningful impact for individuals and communities," said a press statement from the company.
The Changemaking Campus will feature a series of interactive booths designed to help visitors understand their unique skin needs and discover personalized skincare solutions.
The initiative also seeks to inspire customers to embrace the brand’s core mission: "We exist to fight for a fairer, more beautiful world," according to The Body Shop general manager Dexter Foong.
"The Body Shop has always been an advocate for positive change, guided by ethical and environmental principles, from Community Fair Trade to 100 percent vegan products. It is only fitting to mark our 40 years of goodness with a Changemaking Campus that encourages others to do the same.
"We all have opportunities to be forces for good, and we hope to inspire individuals to help others by supporting the 'Gaza Home of Hope & Love' project for orphans by Rose2Rose," he added.
Visitors to the Changemaking Campus will have the chance to engage with a dedicated photo wall celebrating changemakers and receive free samples upon completing the campus tour.
Additionally, the first 40 visitors each weekday from 3pm onwards will be treated to a complimentary scoop of ice cream.
The Body Shop is also offering rewards through its app, The Body Shop. By registering as a Love Your Body Friend, participants can redeem an RM10 voucher and receive a free pouch. This registration also provides updates on exclusive in-app offers, promotions, and new products.
Moreover, The Body Shop will contribute RM1 from every purchase of its British Rose range, including products like hand creams, to the 'Gaza Home of Hope & Love' project by Rose2Rose under Humanitarian Care Malaysia (MyCARE). This initiative aims to support children and women affected by the ongoing genocide in Gaza, providing vital education and empowerment opportunities.
