SHAH ALAM - Women need to prioritise legacy planning to ensure their financial futures are secure and their wishes are fulfilled, says Maybank Trustees Bhd Chief Executive Officer Nor Fazlina Ghouse.
She said many women often overlook estate planning, mistakenly believing it was only for the wealthy.
Due to factors like wage gaps and longer life expectancy, she said women frequently struggled with retirement savings, advising women to protect those savings via legacy planning.
"Understanding your financial goals and the legacy you want to leave is crucial; it's not just about saving for retirement but also about how your assets are managed after you're gone,” she told Sinar Daily during an exclusive interview.
Highlighting wills and trusts as an essential tool for securing one's future, she added that it also ensured the assets were passed on according to personal wishes.
Nor Fazlina will be speaking more on the topic at She Leads 4: Don’t Go Broke in Your Golden Years this Tuesday (Aug 27) at Karangkraf, Shah Alam. You can purchase the tickets here.
She said she plans to address how women can use these tools to safeguard their financial futures and dispel common misconceptions about legacy planning.
The upcoming She Leads networking event will provide women with vital financial strategies for a secure future. Aside from Nor Fazlina, the event will also feature Employers Provident Fund Head of Policy & Strategy Balqais Yusoff and Erin Adlina Adnan, a renowned financial and wealth planner.
