SHAH ALAM - Mixed doubles pair Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei are determined to overcome their recent disappointment after failing to advance further in the Paris Olympics.

Chen said that he and Toh are focused on using the upcoming Japan Open, scheduled for this Tuesday, as a stepping stone toward their goal of competing in the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.

"While we are disappointed not to have reached the Olympic semifinals, we still have opportunities to qualify for the next Olympics.

"Each tournament is crucial now, and although shifting focus from the Olympics to other events is challenging, we need to move forward,” Chen said.

Chen and Toh, making their debut at the Paris Olympics, ended their campaign in the quarterfinals after a strong start as Group D champions. They were defeated by the eighth-ranked South Korean pair, Kim Won Ho and Jeong Na Eun.
