SHAH ALAM - Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) owner Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim appeared to mock Selangor FC after the Red Giants won the Sultan Selangor Cup on Saturday.

Tunku Ismail, who is also the acting Sultan of Johor, referred to the victory as surprising and dismissed the trophy as not being officially recognised in Malaysia.

"In Malaysia, the recognised trophies are the Super League, FA Cup, Malaysia Cup, and AFC Contribution Cup.

"Qualification for international tournaments comes through the Super League and FA Cup.

"If I were to create my own 'self-gratifying' cup and celebrate it as if it were an official trophy, I could introduce the Daddy Cup and Cap Susu Cup next year," he wrote on his official Facebook page.

Selangor FC clinched the Sultan Selangor Cup for the second consecutive year after beating Pilihan Singapore 2-1 last Saturday.

The victory marked the Red Giants' third trophy of the season, following triumphs in the Selangor Asia Challenge Cup and RCTI Premium Sports.

"What's even more baffling is the lack of shame, a chronic case of shock," he added.
