GUA MUSANG - The chant of "Thank you for voting BN" echoed through the Cekati Community Hall after unofficial results announced a significant victory for Barisan Nasional (BN) in the Nenggiri by-election on Saturday.
BN candidate Mohd Azmawi Fikri Abdul Ghani reportedly won the Nenggiri by-election, defeating Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidate Mohd Rizwadi Ismail, who ran under the Pas logo.
The BN camp celebrated the unofficial victory after counting at all 47 polling stations showed the BN candidate leading with a majority of 3,372 votes.
According to the unofficial count, the BN candidate received 9,113 votes, while the Pas candidate secured 5,741 votes.
Kelantan BN Chairman Datuk Ahmad Jazlan Yaakob highlighted in his speech that the Orang Asli community was among the key voters who contributed significantly to BN's success, alongside voters in the broader Nenggiri area.
"We are very happy with this victory because everyone worked together to secure BN's position in Nenggiri.
"This is the first time I have seen such disciplined machinery; we all worked sincerely," he said.
Also present at the event was Umno Supreme Council member (MKT), Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan.
