SHAH ALAM - A 21-year-old woman suffered multiple stab wounds during an attempted robbery at an ice cream shop in Taman Sri Muda here yesterday.
Shah Alam district police chief ACP Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said in the 11.30pm incident, the victim was working alone in the shop when a suspect, armed with a pen knife and wearing a face mask, approached her.
He said during the robbery attempt, a struggle ensued between the suspect and the victim, resulting in minor injuries to several parts of the woman’s body from multiple stab wounds.
"The victim was treated at Shah Alam Hospital and was allowed to go home at 1am today.
"Based on the information received so far, there have been no losses reported by the victim or the shop where she works,” he said in a statement here today.
Mohd Iqbal said a review of closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage had enabled the police to identify the suspect’s face, and efforts to track him down were ongoing.
The case is being investigated under Section 394 of the Penal Code.
