JOHOR BAHRU - The six-year-old girl Albertine Leo Jia Hui, who was reported missing and believed to have been kidnapped in Iskandar Puteri last Saturday has returned to her family.
The update came via a Facebook post from Barbie Hui Hui, who shared a photo of the child with her mother, Leo Qieo Xin, her father and several other family members.
"Thank you all for the community's concern. She is safe but exhausted and traumatised from the incident over the past few days," the post read.
The account owner also noted that she had permission from the child’s mother to share the photo and update.
The child received treatment at Selayang Hospital in Selangor on Tuesday morning before being returned to Johor Bahru under the strict supervision of the police force.
She was reunited with her family in the afternoon.
It was reported that the child was discovered in Batang Kali, as confirmed by Selangor Police Chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan.
Johor Police had previously detained three individuals to assist with the investigation into the child’s disappearance, which was first reported around 8.30pm last Saturday.
The child had been accompanying her father to the Eco Galleria business center in Iskandar Puteri.
Five suspects are currently in remand, and the case has been reclassified from a missing person report to Section 365 of the Penal Code.
