SHAH ALAM - In a rare academic feat, Shah Alam born twin brothers Muhammad Shafeeq Abdul Reezal and Muhammad Shahmi Abdul Reezal have both achieved First Class Honours in their Accounting and Finance degrees from the London School of Economics (LSE) in London, United Kingdom.
The twin’s father Dr Abdul Reezal Abdul Latif said the 23-year-old siblings' journey to the exceptional accomplishment was particularly noteworthy given the challenges they faced.
"They sat for their A-Levels during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic and commenced their university studies amidst strict health protocols, including regular PCR (polymerase chain reaction) testing and various campus restrictions,” he said in a statement.
Reezal and her wife Nik Nira expressed pride in their resilience and dedication.
"Despite the unprecedented circumstances, Shafeeq and Shahmi remained focused on their goals. Their achievement is a testament to their hard work and adaptability in the face of adversity,” the parents said.
The brothers' success was especially remarkable as it was uncommon for twins to both attain First Class Honours in the same programme at such a competitive institution.
The brothers’ graduation was held at the Peacock Theatre, London School of Economics yesterday.
