Farah Kartini's phone found

Evidence believed to be the victim's mobile phone was found at the scene.

HULU SELANGOR - A mobile phone, believed to belong to murder victim Nur Farah Kartini Abdullah, 25, was found in a ditch near the location where her body was discovered in Kampung Sri Kledang, Felda Gedangsa.

The phone was found at about 12.20pm, more than an hour after the police’s dive unit began their search in the water.

Previously, the suspect, who is believed to be involved in the murder of the former Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) student, was brought to the location at about 11.40am.

The 26-year-old man, dressed in an orange lockup uniform and handcuffed, was at the location for about five minutes under tight police security.

The search for evidence involved the police dive unit and the Kuala Kubu Baharu Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), with assistance from Felda Gedangsa volunteer firefighters.

JBPM members were seen pumping water from the ditch in the oil palm plantation before the forensic unit began their underwater search this morning.

The body of Farah Kartini, who had been missing since July 10, was found on Monday, believed to have been murdered by someone she knew.

Following this, the suspect, who is a police officer, was detained to assist in the investigation.
