KUALA LUMPUR - A group of men dressed in black became online heroes after a video of them cleaning a clogged drain went viral.
The 1-minute 17-second video, uploaded on Besihitam Studio's Facebook account, shows the group tackling a drain overflowing with overgrown bushes, causing water to accumulate on the road during rain.
"Today, the team and I decided to take action on this drain.
"If no one else is going to do it, we will," one man says in the video.
Armed with iron scoops, they diligently removed the grass blocking the water flow.
They then collected the debris, leaves, and trash into bags for proper disposal.
"This is right in front of a shopping centre!" the man continues, emphasising the responsibility of those in charge.
"Hopefully, with our effort, the drainage will function properly now," he added.
The video triggered a wave of appreciation online, with netizens commending the group's initiative and sense of civic duty.
"Thank you, young men.
"May you be blessed with ease, abundance, and safety in life," commented Ferey Indera.
Roha Adrinna echoed the sentiment, calling their actions an exemplary model for young people to follow.
"If more young people had this spirit, Malaysia would be a more harmonious place.
"Doing good deeds for the sake of God is truly admirable," she wrote.
