Chegubard predicts petrol price hike if PH wins Sungai Bakap

NIBONG TEBAL - Perikatan Nasional’s (PN) Badrul Hisham Shaharin, also known as Chegubard has slammed the government's decision to "increase" diesel prices, sarcastically suggesting that the decision was aimed at saving subsidies from foreigners who barely use diesel.

"Anwar (Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim) said he wants to save subsidies from foreigners by increasing diesel prices.

"We are talking about saving diesel subsidies from refugees like the Rohingyas, who barely use diesel,” he said during Ceramah Kelompok held at Kampung Permatang Ara here yesterday.

He suggested that the Prime Minister might have confused diesel with cooking oil, which refugees are more likely to use.

He also dismissed the three-sen price reduction for eggs as insignificant, questioning the focus on egg prices.

"Are we that obsessed with eggs?” he said.

He predicted further price increases for petrol if Pakatan Harapan wins the Sungai Bakap state seat.

On a separate matter, Chegubard also addressed recent religious issues, accusing DAP of ignoring the Malaysian constitution, which recognises Islam as the country's official religion and prohibits the promotion of other religions.

He condemned the "Jom ke Gereja" (let’s go to church) initiative allegedly led by DAP’s Hannah Yeoh, suggesting it aimed to make Malaysia a liberal and pluralistic country.

The by-election on July 6 is a straight fight between Pakatan Harapan candidate Dr Joohari Ariffin and PN's Abidin Ismail, following the death of Nor Zamri Latiff on May 24 due to stomach inflammation.
