KUALA LUMPUR - Witnesses of the fire at a theme park in Genting Highlands this afternoon described their panic as they saw the raging fire spread across the building, causing them to fear it was about to collapse, and the thick smoke that enveloped the surrounding area.

Tourist Hafiz Abdul Halim, 42, who was with his wife said they felt fear when they realised that there was a fire at the two-storey building at the theme park.

"We obviously panicked when we heard people screaming here and there. The police on duty did ask people to evacuate the premises and exit to safer locations,” he told Bernama here today.

Restaurant assistant Adrian Wong, 32, shared that the staff there as well as visitors were asked to vacate the building when the fire happened.
