PETALING JAYA - The parents of Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin, who were remanded to assist in the investigation of the murder of the autistic child, will be charged at the Court Complex here today.
Lawyer Fahmi Abd Moin, representing the couple, confirmed this when contacted after their remand period ended today.
However, he said that the defence has yet to be informed of the charges that will be brought against them.
On December 6, 2023, Zayn Rayyan, 6, was found dead in a creek near the Idaman Apartments area in Damansara Damai at 10pm.
The victim's body was discovered by a group of residents conducting a search operation.
The victim was previously reported missing in his residential area before being found lying in the creek about 200 metres from his residential block.
Police confirmed that the victim was believed to have been murdered, following an autopsy that found injuries to the child's neck and body, indicating criminal acts.
Following this, the child's parents were remanded for 13 days starting June 1 to assist in the investigation.
