PETALING JAYA - The Petaling Jaya Court Complex was a hive of activity today, with media members gathering outside the building to follow the latest developments in the case involving the parents of Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matin, an autistic child who was tragically murdered.
Authorities maintained tight control of the complex, only allowing access to those with official business.
This included journalists who had been present since at least 7.30am.
On December 6, 2023, Zayn Rayyan was found dead in a creek near the Idaman Apartment area, Damansara Damai, at 10pm.
The victim's body was discovered by a group of residents who conducted a search operation.
He was reported missing in his residential area before being found lying in the river about 200 metres from his residential block.
Police confirmed that the victim was believed to have been killed, following autopsy findings of injuries to the child's neck and body that were related to criminal acts.
Zayn Rayyan's parents were remanded for 13 days starting June 1 to facilitate the investigation.
