SHAH ALAM - Initial unofficial results from the ongoing election counting reveal a substantial lead for Pakatan Harapan (PH), with the coalition holding a strong advantage over Perikatan Nasional (PN) as votes continue to be tallied.
As the counting of ballots progresses in the latest electoral contest at the Kuala Kubu Baharu (KKB) by-election, PH has emerged as the frontrunner based on early unofficial results.
With approximately 15 per cent of votes counted by 7pm, PH has secured a commanding lead over PN.
PH has amassed over 3,000 votes, significantly outstripping PN's tally of just under 1,200 votes at this juncture.
The independent candidate is demonstrating a stronger performance compared to Parti Rakyat Malaysia (PRM) at this stage of the counting process, although both alternative candidates trail behind PH and PN by a considerable margin.
These initial figures highlight PH's continued strength and support among voters in this election, suggesting a potentially decisive outcome in favour of the Madani coalition.
The KKB by-election, featuring a four-way contest, was necessitated by the passing of its incumbent, 58-year-old Kee Hiong, on March 21 due to cancer.
