SHAH ALAM - Another individual believed to be connected to the acid attack on Harimau Malaya player Faisal Halim at a shopping mall near Kota Damansara last Sunday has been apprehended.
Selangor Police Chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the suspect, a local man in his thirties, was arrested in the Bandar Baru Bangi area.
"The suspect was arrested late Monday afternoon and will be brought to the Petaling Jaya Court for remand proceedings," he said.
Earlier, police had announced the arrest of a man in Pandan Indah, Ampang, on Sunday in connection with the incident.
The man in his twenties was remanded for two days for further investigation and to determine the motive behind the incident.
It is understood that during the incident, the Selangor FC player was approached by two individuals on motorcycles who then proceeded to throw acid at him.
Faisal was subsequently rushed to a private hospital in Petaling Jaya, and his condition was reported to be stable.
However, yesterday's media report indicated Faisal has been confirmed to have suffered fourth-degree burns after undergoing the first surgery.
