KUALA LUMPUR - A woman appears with a unique charm, looking elegant as she dressed up in a red outfit while doing business at a nearby stall.
Not only that but she was also adorned with a hat filled with flowers.
The woman's stall, known as the Red Fedora Cafe, is easily recognisable from afar in Little India, Brickfields, because the table covers are lined with red fabric and they use umbrellas of the same colour.
Through sharing on the TikTok platform, D Manimagalai, who sells traditional Indian snacks, particularly various variations of pani puri, is also generous with her sweet smile in serving her customers.
A video recording of the woman subsequently garnered various comments and support from internet users of various nationalities, who were mostly impressed by her approach.
Some even nicknamed Manimagalai 'Akka Merah'.
When contacted, Manimagalai, 54, said she idolises Tamil actor MG Ramachandran.
"His life journey was a bit winding just like mine and he always had a positive attitude which eventually led to MG Ramachandran being appointed as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for three terms," she said.
The mother of four children said she wanted to live a peaceful life while making the people around her happy.
"I enjoy when people around me are happy, that's why I give the best service to customers," she said.
When asked about her choice of using red colour, she revealed that she was very fond of that colour besides yellow.
"My idol likes red and black, but I'm very interested in red and yellow," she said, who has 20 years of business experience in cooking and cakes.
Pani puri options sold are yogurt, cream cheese, chocolate and original sold at a price of RM10 from 7pm to 11pm every day.
