SHAH ALAM - With the March 31 deadline looming for registration on the Central Database Hub (Padu), many individuals are rushing to sign up on the Padu website.
However, an interesting event unfolded as former federal minister and Keluar Sekejap host Khairy Jamaluddin encountered a hiccup during his registration process, highlighting potential issues with the system.
Khairy's experience shed light on unforeseen challenges faced by users attempting to register.
In an Instagram story post, Khairy shared a screenshot of a popup warning indicating that an account had already been created using his identification details.
"So, finally got around to registering on Padu today.
"As I was just about to register, it fell through. I have never registered before!" Khairy wrote in the accompanying caption.
Following this setback, Khairy acknowledged that Padu promptly addressed his issue by resetting his identification card (IC) login credentials.
However, he expressed concern over discovering that someone had registered using his IC number.
"Padu saw my issue and reset my IC login. Thanks! Some guy registered using my IC number.
"His identity has been doxed online. Which I am not sure is a good thing. Two wrongs don't make a right," Khairy said.
Khairy stressed the importance of addressing the issue through proper channels, stating his intention to file a police report for identity theft rather than resorting to online doxxing.
"The right thing to do is to make a police report for identity theft, which I will do.
"Not dox and leak that guy's info online. That invites more suspicion against Padu," Khairy affirmed.
Despite the registration glitch encountered by Khairy, he proceeded to complete his registration process and submitted the necessary e-KYC (electronic Know Your Customer) information as required by Padu.
