SHAH ALAM - The opposition bloc will make use of the Prime Minister's Question and Answer Session (PMQ) in the Dewan Rakyat which will start next week by raising questions about the depreciation of the ringgit.
Rantau Panjang Member of Parliament Datuk Siti Zailah Mohd Yusoff said the factor of the country's currency being lower and efforts to deal with it were important to be answered by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as the country's number one leader to 'alleviate' the people's concerns.
"I have sent questions related to the fall in the ringgit value to be answered by the government at the Dewan Rakyat conference session because this issue concerns almost all citizens, especially traders who carry out foreign currency exchange business activities.
"Taking an example in my own area (Rantau Panjang) which is located in the border area, residents who do business take goods from Thailand and this situation puts pressure on them since our money is lower compared to the Thai Baht.
"So, the government needs to clarify steps or strategies to strengthen the decline in the ringgit value," she told Sinar.
