SHAH ALAM - National track cycling icon Datuk Azizulhasni Awang described his appointment as Oligo brand ambassador as a great responsibility in educating the community to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games silver medal winner said that people in this country need enough nutrition for them to live a healthier life, including the aspect of nutrition as practiced by athletes.
"As an athlete, I need to maintain a balanced diet and get the best nutrition so that I can perform optimally during the competition.
"With enough energy, of course I will be able to show my best performance during the tournament.
"However, nutrition is not only for athletes like me but also for the daily needs of the public," he said at the launch of a new pack of Oligo brand drinks here on Tuesday.
Also present was Power Root co-chairman Tengku Datuk Setia Putra Alhaj Tengku Azman Shah Alhaj.
The pairing of Power Root Berhad's chocolate malt drink with the country's track cycling champion is also to drive the dream of the first gold medal at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris for Malaysia.
Meanwhile, Tengku Putra Alhaj said Azizulhasni, known by the nickname Pocket Rocketman, was appointed as the Oligo brand ambassador because of his fighting spirit that never fades in the sport.
"The spirit he showed represented the same commitment as Oligo in providing energy and substances to its users.
"In line with Oligo's slogan, which is 'Activate Your Potential', we want to see Pocket Rocketman maximise his skills during the competition with NutriMax-enriched Oligo," he said in the same ceremony.
Through Azizulhasni's partnership with Oligo, the Power Root company hopes that it would inspire Malaysians to pursue excellence and adopt a healthy lifestyle.
Tengku Putra Alhaj said Azizulhasni is the best athlete to showcase Oligo's image to the Malaysian community because in the pursuit of success, he is known for his attitude of not admitting defeat even when faced with various bitter challenges.
To celebrate his greatness as a world champion, Oligo would introduce a new package displaying the image of the sports icon.
Oligo's latest packaging design is available in powder and ready-to-drink packs.
It will be distributed in leading supermarkets and retail stores nationwide in 30 gram sachets, 950 gram refill packs, instant cups, 240 milliliters (ml) beverage cans and the new 200ml Tetra pack.
