MCPF offers reward for answers

SHAH ALAM - The Malaysian Crime Prevention Foundation (MCPF) Selangor announced a RM20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the individuals involved in the murder of six-year-old Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin.

MCPF Selangor Deputy Chairman Datuk Seri A. Thaiveegan said that the reward is offered to ensure that individuals involved in this case are promptly brought to court.

"We aim to ensure those responsible are brought to court.

"This reward, approved by the MCPF Chairman, will be provided through the Selangor Police," he said.

He made these remarks during a press conference with the Selangor Police Chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan at the Shah Alam district police headquarters here today.

Zayn was reported missing on Dec 5 before being found dead in a stream 200m from his home at Idaman Apartments, Damansara Damai at 10pm by a group of residents assisting in the search operations.

Police have classified his death as murder, and have since recorded the statements of more than 200 individuals in connection to the case.

Federal Police Criminal Investigation Department director Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain said his team will continue to investigate the case and look for new leads based on all information.
