SHAH ALAM - A Tesla Model 3 crashed through a brick wall along Jalan BS3/12 in Sedang, sparking debates online as the driver blamed poor visibility, despite contradicting evidence.
In a Facebook post shared by YC Shaun, questions arose about the presence of a wall in the road's midst.
"The wall has stood for nearly a decade. Originally, it was erected when the other side was undeveloped, serving as protection for nearby residents.
"Those familiar with the area understand the necessity of the wall. The bottom line is, the status of the wall was updated in every version of map application as a dead end,” YC Chaun mentioned in his Facebook post.
Despite the driver's assertion of darkness, accompanying images revealed a well-lit street illuminated by streetlamps.
The footage depicted significant damage to the Tesla's front end following the collision.
While some accused the driver of drunk driving, others blamed the Tesla system for failing to halt the vehicle, considering its reputed automatic emergency braking capabilities.
A Facebook account using the username of Andrew Chin said, "Road is too dark to see? More likely the driver was driving under the influence (DUI).”
Another Facebook user by the name of Wilson Choo KW left a comment saying, "Probably the programme never expected a wall built in the middle of the road. Still, it is so dangerous if it happens during a dark night, manual driving for anyone following Waze or Google Map and first time using this road.”
