New Year Resolutions Vs New Year Revolutions

Maybe we do not need new goals, maybe we just need to keep doing what we have been doing with more intensity, passion, and sincerity.

As we usher in the new year with mixed emotions, I know some of us might have already been thinking and writing down our new year resolutions.

You have heard people say, "My new year resolution is to lose weight, or to save more money or to do better in this area of my life and to try something new.”

The very next year, the same things are being repeated; that same resolution. Nothing wrong with that. "Setting goals is the first step in turning the invisible into the visible,” as famously quoted by motivational speaker, Anthony Robbins.

Nevertheless, the thing that fuels a resolution is a "feeling.” Feelings change, they are not constant nor consistent. Hence, coaches and trainers will always advice you to write those resolution down and put it where you will be able to see them. Every. Single. Day.

All these in the hope that you literally remain steadfast in applying them in life. But what is the difference between resolution and revolution?

Resolutions are often personal and individual-based whereas a revolution is a larger-scale change that can affect society as a whole. Moreover, a revolution is followed by an active action.

To achieve what you want, clearly document your goal along with a well-investigated way to get there.

Do not be shy to map out each day with specific instructions to get one step closer to that goal of yours; healthier life or more savings.

Do not be afraid to ask for help and guidance. Achieve your revolution by putting all those means in motion.

This year my intentions are the same as they were last year. Sometimes with health and healing, it is not about a goal we are checking off, it is more about our conscious focus and intention in our day-to-day life.

Maybe we do not need new goals, maybe we just need to keep doing what we have been doing with more intensity, passion, and sincerity.

Create that personal revolution that will radically transform your life. Still feeling stuck and demotivated?

As mentioned by Rumi,” As you start to walk on the way, the way appears.” That consistent move of yours might incite more awareness, inspire a different kind of growth and shift, thus creating a whole revolution of change.

Just because it is taking time, does it mean it is not working?

Lastly, hope its not too late - Happy New Year!
